Unity3D is a powerful, cross-platform game engine that drives many of today’s most popular computer, mobile, and console games; it has also become a critical tool in many Virtual Reality projects. This workshop will provide an introduction to Unity, focusing on tips for beginners to enter the game development world. At the end of this workshop, learners will have the basic knowledge to use Unity Engine in developing their own games.

In this workshop you will learn about:

• Game development industry (Internationally & locally);

• Game engines, specifically Unity Engine;

• What you need to start developing your first game;

• How can you benefit from developing a game;

If you want to follow up the demo, you will need a laptop with Unity installed. Instructions to download Unity can be found here.

Prerequisite Knowledge
Unity is an easy-to-use environment; some programming experience is helpful but not required.

Featured Instructor: Danar Kayfi
Danar Kayfi is an independent game developer. He holds a Bachelors in Computer Engineering and a Masters degree in Computer Science, both from Philadelphia University in Jordan. Danar is Iraqi Kurdish who was born in Baghdad. He currently lives in Erbil.

Danar has been involved in the game development world since 2012 and has developed (programmed) several games under the name Bug Games. For the past 4 years, he has been teaching game development for beginner and intermediate students in both offline and online courses such as Udemy He currently is a senior game developer at Fastwares.
